Five Apple Daily execs arrested in Hong Kong

AJF condemns the arrest of five Apple Daily executives

At least 100 police raided the Apple Daily offices in Hong Kong on 16 June, an extraordinary show of force for something where no evidence of wrongdoing has been produced.

This incident, along with the ongoing jailing of Apple Daily founder Jimmy Lai, only further dismantles any existence of democratic process and principle in Hong Kong, in the wake of the recently implemented National Security Law.
