Gerard Ryle

Gerard Ryle is the director of ICIJ (International Consortium of Investigative Journalists).

Gerard led the worldwide teams of journalists working on the Panama Papers and Paradise Papers investigations, the biggest in journalism history. Under his leadership over the past seven years, ICIJ has become one of the best-known journalism brands in the world. Reporters Without Border names him one of “100 information heroes” of worldwide significance.

Before his time at ICIJ Ryle worked in Australia as an investigative journalist for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald for twenty years.
