Maria Ressa, award winning journalist and CEO of Rappler has been arrested in the Philippines, under the accusation of “cyber libel”.

The grounds for arrest are blurred and the arrest warrant was issued too late in the evening for Ressa’s lawyers to post bail, so she will spend the night in custody of the National Bureau of Investigation.
